Evan Osnos’ The Age of Ambition was a delightful read (listen). It provided a great survey of the scale, challenges, and contradictions of China’s recent history. The book was recommended to me by a good friend who lived in China for a number of years, and it delivered.
There is no question that blockchain technology will have a profound impact on the future. My goal in reading Alex Tapscott’s and Don Tapscott’s The Blockchain Revolution was to learn more about the technology.
Unfortunately, lost in the unending hyping of blockchain technology was any any calm, reasoned discussion of the benefits and challenges of the technology. If you are looking for a dispassionate analysis of the blockchain. Look elsewhere.
Eric Ries’ book The Lean Startup is a classic. So many of the concepts its outlines have trickled down into mainstream business that it is easy to forget that these ideas were new at one time.
For my part I was glad to finally read the original, and I look forward to re-reading it.
